We don't have much time because we're going to Hrazdan today to play basketball, but this week was sick because I got to go back to Charentsavan.
Elder Burraston and I went on a split and we went to this place called the Black Prison. The Black Prison is an old Soviet Union homeless shelter, that is completely caving in. It looks like it was bombed out becuase there are no windows the bottom floor is completely destroyed, there is tons of shrapnel, and heroine needles everywhere. We assumed the lady that still lived there, who is a member by the way, had abandoned it, but Elder Burraston and I went to check it out and she was still there! That is not humane. So now Elder Burraston is working with her son to get her moved out. And her son even agreed to come to church because he hadn't heard about all the changes that went on last May.
Every week there are always good things, and there are always bad things. We all face disappointment and it's easy to get caught up on all those things and just fall into a pit of self pity and doubt. But when we look out and count our many blessings each day it makes it easier to get through those trials. Trials will always come, we have to face that fact. God will always send trials so that we can exercise our agency and strengthen our faith in Him. No matter the trial he has walked that road before and he walks it with us everyday. The hardest days when we feel that he is far away that is when he is closest. We have to learn to trust in him and in his judgment. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. It's tangible proof that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. That he came to the earth, took upon himself all of our sins, fears, disappointments, etc. So that we would not have to walk this road alone like he did when he suffered on the cross. I know that Thomas S. Monson is God's living prophet on the earth today, and like the Primary song says if we follow him, we won't go astray. We will be guided through our trials and they will be but for a small moment.
Love you all for the most part!
